Congratulations to the fourth class choirs on an amazing performance with the Rathfarnham Concert Bands at the National Concert Hall on November 28th. You did us proud! It was a fantastic night for the whole community with the standing ovation well deserved by all!
A few photographs from the night thanks to RCBS photographer Dave Keegan.
This year the Student Council decided that the classes would be asked to make their own Halloween costume. The standard was extremely high and we were disappointed we couldn’t get everyone a prize!! The hours of work that must of gone into making the costumes were evident. Take a look at the winners – amazing job everyone – Well Done!!
Eric Dempsey visited the school on Thursday the 28th of September. He gave a workshop to the 3rd and 4th classes.
He is one of Ireland’s leading bird experts, author of many books and team member of RTE’s Mooney Goes Wild show. The workshops were both entertaining and informative for pupils and teachers alike. He brought the world of birds alive through hands-on workshops that included looking at lots of feathers as well as some of the wonderful photos that Eric took himself. A great day was had by all. Our thanks to Fidelma Fagan and the local residence association who funded the visit.
The 4th class children learned about China with their student teacher Ms O’Donnell. They were divided into groups with each member researching a different aspect of Chinese life. They returned to their group and taught the other members about what they had learnt. The pupils composed and performed songs about China. They did Chinese Maths, Chinese history and learned some Mandarin.
