We are delighted to announce that our fourth class choirs will be performing at the annual gala concert of the Rathfarnham Concert Bands which will take place at the National Concert Hall on Tuesday November 28th.  The Divine Word choir will join with the choirs of St. Mary’s BNS and Loreto GNS Grange Road to form a combined children’s choir of over 130 pupils. This is a very exciting venture as it is the first time that our school has been invited to partake and the first time that a choir combining the three schools has been put together. The theme for the concert is ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ and on the night the choir will perform a number of traditional festive songs and seasonal songs from stage and screen, conducted by Ms. Caitríona Ní Threasaigh. The choir of Loreto High School Beaufort and all bands of the Rathfarnham Concert Band Society will also perform in the concert which promises to be a great night’s entertainment for all the family. This is a fabulous opportunity for children from Divine Word to perform on the stage of one of Ireland’s most prestigious music venues. Tickets for the concert are available from the NCH Box Office: 01 4170000 and www.nch.ie

Halloween Competition Winners

This year the Student Council decided that the classes would be asked to make their own Halloween costume.  The standard was extremely high and we were disappointed we couldn’t get everyone a prize!!  The hours of work that must of gone into making the costumes were evident.  Take a look at the winners – amazing job everyone – Well Done!!
