In rang a sé recently, we were working on our procedural writing. We were working in groups and we had to research and then write out recipes of what we were going to bake. We all chose our recipe and then one Friday morning the time came, and we had to actually do some baking! To give just a flavour of what we made, there were smoothie bowls, chocolate rice krispie squares, melted marshmallow rice krispie squares, milkshakes and toffee squares. Everybody had to be super creative because we couldn’t use ovens, it was no-bake baking!
When everybody was finished, Mr Reilly, Ms Barrett and Ms Hayes judged on what group made the best food. They picked one winner from three categories, taste, presentation and how healthy it was. It was a super fun day overall and a great way to learn about procedural writing!
