Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025 was very busy in Divine Word N.S. It started off with the comórtas físeáin which got the whole school community involved. We saw Gaeilge sa zú, sna sléibhte, sa pháirc agus ar fud na háite! We were blown away by the videos and hope every had fun showing off their Gaeilge. Have a look at our buaiteoirí anseo.
We also had great fun in our Siopa Milseán and Siopadóir Sheanon was helped by Siopadóir Brennan agus Siopadóir Brennan!
The Lá Glas was iontach ar fad and we were treated to a lesson by Harry and Shanna's Mum Paula. Paula told us all about her experience with Riverdance and showed us how to do some moves, she even managed to teach Mr Sheanon and Mr Clabby how to move like Michael Flatley! Go raibh maith agat Paula.
We also had lots of páistí from Rang 1-6 perform on the day and of course Ms Larkin dusted off her bróga and gúna for us. This year we had a surprise visit from Rúnaí Aisling and she joined Ms Larkin in a jig!
Rang a 3 also had a tráth na gceist ar líne and we had a team represent the school in a library tráth na gceist as Gaeilge.
Gach lá the children participated in activities as Gaeilge in their own classrooms and some children were ag canadh with the Kerry Cowboy ar líne freisin. It was a wonderful event and we hope everyone continues to use their cúpla focal and or course our song Béic Amach!
