Thank you to The Student Council, who have been working really hard this term! They are continuing to meet each Wednesday for early morning meetings with Ms Pigott and Mr Mangan. The library, PE equipment room and the AR reading area have been kept clean and tidy, thanks to their hard work.
The Student Council have been spending most of their time working towards getting our school its first ever Active Flag. They have helped to organise active events such as our ‘K a Day’ and ‘Active Break Everyday Challenge’ as well as helping to develop our first ever Active Walkway around the school. They have even helped Mr Sheanon by giving their feedback on our school’s Code of Behaviour!
On Wednesday, we hosted the Student Council from St Colmcille's SNS in Knocklyon. They have recently set up their own Student Council and wanted to see how ours was run. Each member from our council spoke about something that the Student Council have done this year. We then gave them a tour of the school, and let them explore our school newspaper, ‘The Divine Word Daily’ on our school I-pads. It was a great day and we got lots of ideas from them too. We hope to take them up on their offer of a return visit to their school!
The Student Council have also been busy organising our annual Easter Egg collection for the charity ‘People Helping Homeless’. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated eggs, we have had a brilliant response! Keep an eye on our Twitter page to see the total amount of eggs collected.
