Have a read of some excellent pieces written by Mr O Connell’s class.
On Thursday 7th March our two fifth classes embarked on a trip into town. We left school at 8:50 am with 57 kids, three teachers and three parents and grabbed the number 14 bus from Marley Court. We landed on Dame street and travelled through Trinity College on our way to our first stop, the National Art Gallery.
The kids got to see the infamous “Taking of Christ” by Carvaggio aswel as many other wonderful art works. After a 45 minute tour we the headed for the Museum of Archaeology. The kids spent 40 minutes exploring two floors of artefacts, documents and video footage.
For the final part of our trip we headed for Merrion Square, on our way we gave our support to the nurses and midwives who were striking outside Holles Street. At 12:30 we arrived at our final destination, the Dublin EU offices on Lower Mount Street. Juan our guide was overwhelmed with our knowledge of the EU and was also forced to answer some very difficult Brexit related questions. The kids got posters, booklets, pins and magazines on the EU before leaving.
We walked from Lower Mount Street back to George’s Street and got the number 16 home. The kids had a great day, we received numerous compliments from tour guides, security officers and bus drivers on our behaviour. ( And the whole trip only cost 2 euro per child)
Take a very very close look at our pics………….
Thank you to all the grandparents who came into Room 4 yesterday. We had a super time showing them our classroom and our work. The grandparents were amazing at dancing to our Free Style GoNoodle. We were all very impressed. We loved listening to stories from the past and looking at old photographs.
Take a look at all the fun we had.
What a day!
Thank you so much to all our grandparents for travelling to be with us on this special day. A huge thank you to Fr Jim, our wonderful PA, our 6th class helpers and not forgetting our fabulous caretaker John.

Here are some of the pictures taken by our 6th class photographers…..
Thank you to all the wonderful grandparents who visited Room 12 today. We loved listening to their stories and looking at the photos and objects that they brought in. We enjoyed asking them questions about school life when they were young and playing Bingo with them. Here are some photos of grandparents with their grandchildren and the grandchildren they adopted for the day.
