As well as covering the Physical Education curriculum in each class, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular sporting activities to the children. We are fortunate to have many staff members that give up their time to ensure as many children as possible receive an opportunity to engage in as many sporting activities as possible.
With all our sports teams, our goal is to enjoy ourselves, while showing respect, fairness and and team spirit, at all times. Like all children, we enjoy winning, however the emphasis is always on working hard to achieve to our maximum potential.
Swimming - Every child will do a block of swimming from Rang a 2 to Rang a 6. This takes place during school time, in Meadowbrook swimming pool.
Rugby - Karl from Leinster Rugby comes to the school once a week to take a year group, usually starting with the younger classes.
Futsol - Local Councillor Sean McLoughlin takes futsol classes once a week with different classes. The children love Sean's fun approach!
GAA - We have both Junior and Senior boys and girls teams in the Cumann na mBunscol leagues. The Gaelic football takes place in September and October, and the hurling and Camogie takes place in April and May.
Soccer - Every year, we enter boys and girls teams for the FAI senior soccer leagues. These run from April.
Athletics - Santry Sports Day is one of the sporting highlights of the year. Children from Rang a 3 to Rang a 6 receive and opportunity to represent the school in the various athletics events.
